- The Grade seven timetable and teacher assignments will be given out
in the first week of school in the fall.
- The students will receive program outlines and evaluation criteria
for the various classes. These outlines will be in their binders.
- An information sheet from the Department of Education is also
available.

Opportunities to Learn in Grade Seven
Christian Teaching
The Christian Perspective is integrated in all subject areas in
addition to daily devotions, prayer time, chapel, and Bible classes.

Technology
- Students have approximately 20 thirty minute classes in the CTS
Modules in Term 1. (Other CTS modules are art and music.)
- In addition to computer use integrated into the
regular academic classes, students will have access to the computer lab to complete assignments/projects, do research, and practise keyboarding skills.
Second Language Instruction
- Students will continue with French classes in Grade Seven.
Homework
Students in Grade seven are expected to do an average of 4-5 hours
of study at home each week. Agendas will be used daily and are expected
to be signed on a weekly basis.

Interviews
- Student / parent / teacher interviews take place in November
and March.
- It is a time of reflection and goal setting.
Evaluation
In general:
- 35% for daily assignments
- 30% for exams
- 25% for projects
- 10% for effort, attitude, organization and contribution
Final Exams
- Final exams are worth 25% of the student’s final grade.
- If achievement is 85% or higher in English, Math, Science,
or Social Studies over the three terms, the student is exempt
from the final exam.
Lockers
- Students are expected to keep their lockers organized and tidy.
- Locks are provided by the school. If the lock is lost, students will need to pay $5 for a new one.

Daily PE Classes
- The Department of Edcuation has implemented 30 minutes of daily
PE instruction for K-9 students.
- Students need to have a change of clothes for PE class. (t-shirt, gym shorts or sweats, and a pair of gym shoes - not
skater shoes) There are lockers in the washroom for the Junior High students.
- If a student is unable to participate in PE, the student will need to bring a note from home.
Extracurricular Sports
(We
are part of the Medicine Hat Junior High Athletic Association.)
- Volleyball season- September to early November
- Basketball season- November to March
- Badminton season- March to April
- Track and Field season-April to May
Educational Field Trips
- Gr. 6-9 Ski / Snowboard Trip to Hidden Valley – end of
January (tentatively booked for Jan. 31, 2008)
- Gr. 7/8 Class Daytrip to Calgary 2007 (June)
(Mustard Seed Street Ministry, Calgary Zoo, Dome Theatre at Science
Centre, Glenbow Museum, and supper at the Chinook Mall)
- Gr. 7/8 Class Daytrip to Cypress Hills 2008 (June)
(Fort Walsh, canoeing, hiking, weiner roast, games, and devotions)
