Mrs. Annalora Horch (Bachelor of Religious Education,
Dip in Ed, BA) has been with Medicine Hat Christian since its beginning
in 1982. She was a classroom teacher for four years and then became vice-principal
for seven years. She became principal in 1993 until the present, but she is retiring in August 2008. She
loves children and the Word of God. Previous to teaching at MHCS
she taught in Winnipeg in the public system for 6 years.

One - Rosalyn Clark

Mrs. Clark teaches grade one and has been with MHCS
for many many years. The children love her gentle manner. Her two
children attend the school.

Two - Claudette Hustak
Mrs. Hustak's Email |
Mrs. Hustak was born in Leader and
received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan
in Saskatoon. Her areas of concentration were in reading and music.
Before
coming to Medicine Hat in 1997, she lived with her family in Swift
Current and taught Grade one at Waldeck School in the Prairie West
School Division. For the past years at MHCS, Mrs. Hustak
has taught grade two. Music has always been a big part of her life
and you can hear singing in her classroom throughout the day. She
is also active in her church as part of the worship ministry at
Hillcrest.
Her husband currently teaches in the junior high and
they have two children, Erica and Nolan. In her leisure time, she
enjoys sports, camping, reading, and music. Mrs. Hustak sees teaching
at Medicine Hat Christian as a great opportunity to teach children
about God and His creation.

Mrs. Stappler is the grade three home room teacher
and the school music teacher. She has an after school choir made
up of students from grade 4 to 9. She has won at the Rotary Festival for
the past years in her categories.

Five - Joyce Stigter

"Back in the classroom again" is the tune Mrs. Joyce Stigter is humming now... After exactly twenty years of full-time parenting and part-time supply teaching/volunteering, Joyce is excited about getting back into teaching every day. This is the second time around for Joyce in teaching at MHCS - way back in the mid-80's when the school was just beginning, Joyce was taught grade three and four and Music for the school. Now that she's back on staff, Joyce is enjoying the piano in her room and uses it regularly with her grade five students for devotional worship times and chapel.

Mr. Holmes is the vice-principal and grade six teacher
at MHCS. He has been at the school for more than
ten years and says it is an honor to teach at a school where the
Word of God is taught each and every day.
“We have an amazing school here,” remarks
Mr. Holmes.
Mr. Holmes enjoys teaching very much. He is married
to Gail and in his spare time he reads, snow boards, and enjoys summer activities such as biking, camping,
and boating. He has two lovely children, Joshua and Sophia.

Seven - Lorne Hustak

Mr. Hustak grew up on a mixed farm
near Esterhazy, Saskatchewan and later attended and graduated from
the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon with a B.A. in sociology
and a B. Ed., majoring in English and social studies.
Before coming
to MHCS in 1997, his family lived in Swift Current, and both he
and his wife taught in the Prairie West School Division. Their
children, Erica and Nolan, were born there and have many fond memories
of their first home.
At MHCS, he is teaching full time in the junior
high and is also kept quite busy coaching volleyball, badminton,
cross-country running, and track and field. Mr. Hustak appreciates
that he has had the opportunity to work with some great students
and terrific athletes over the years at Medicine Hat Christian.
Mr.
Hustak and his family attend Hillcrest Church and on most Sunday
mornings, you will find him ushering at the 11:00 a.m. service.
In his leisure time, he enjoys watching and playing most sports,
traveling with his family, reading the Calgary Herald at Tim Horton’s,
and listening to contemporary Christian music.

French - Karen Franchetto |
Mme. Franchetto feels very
blessed to have the opportunity to teach French at MHCS. She has
taught and substituted at various grade levels and subject areas
the past six years.
During one summer, Mme. Franchetto traveled
to Quebec and the next summer she traveled to Nova Scotia to study
and learn more about teaching French. It was an amazing time to
experience francophone and Acadian culture. Mme. Franchetto has
been married three years. Her husband, Renato, teaches high school
Math and Social Studies in Burstall, Saskatchewan. She looks forward
to sharing her enthusiasm and "jore de vivre"(joy of
life) with others.

Karen Friesen |
Mrs. Friesen helps in the grade three room. She is warm and loving
and enjoys children. She has a pug named Baxter, two sons in post-secondary education and is celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary with her husband Roger this year.

Carol Motz |
Ms. Motz is the school's Early Literacy Initiative teacher aide.
She works under the supervision of the kindergarten, grade one and
two teachers with numerous students. She has a colourful, warm small
room in the portables.

Marilyn Sparkes |
Mrs. Sparkes divides her time between the classrooms and the Resource Room providing extra help for students in grades one to nine. She feels blessed to work with so many great, caring teachers in a Christian environment, and thoroughly enjoys working one on one with students; watching them grow physically, spiritually and intellectually. Her oldest child has graduated from MHCS and her other two children attend MHCS in grades six and nine.

Donna Arnold-Janz
BA(Hon), Diploma in Library Operations
Mrs. Janz's Email |
Mrs. Janz has spent many years working
in libraries, including MH College, several public schools and
a church library. She loves to read a variety of material and enjoys
learning about new authors and ways to encourage reading. Mrs.
Janz began at MHCS library as a volunteer in about 1992 when the
first of her three sons started attending MHCS. As the school
and the library grew a part-time library position was created and
Mrs. Janz was asked to fill that role - she was delighted!
Mrs.
Janz looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm for literature with
all of the students and reminds us that reading is a foundation
to everything!

Mrs. Stewart is our school secretary. She is new to our school and new to Alberta. Her husband is a Pastor so her time away from school is spent supporting him in ministry. She has four grown children and one grandchild and loves being Grandma.

COMPUTER TECHNICIAN
Keith Donahue |
Mr. Donahue is the school's computer technician. He keeps all
the computers (80+) operating and networked. He teaches computers
at Medicine Hat College and organizes practical computer experiences
with college students at MHCS. He is the owner of QWERTY computers.

BUS DRIVERS
Teresa Vanderhorst |
Mrs. Vanderhorst has been driving MHCS bus for many years. She
is the head bus driver and can be contacted with any bussing questions.
She is an extremely active fundraiser of the school. She organizes
and runs the school's garage sales and veggie sales. She has raised
thousands of dollars for the school. She has many grandchildren
attending MHCS.
